In addition to producing uncoated paper and packaging materials, International Paper has a North American distribution company (Xpedx), Based Memphis, USA, IP employed around 70,000 people in more than 24 countries in 2013. Annual net revenue totaled US$29 billion.

International Paper has 2,708 own and 4,715 outsourced employees in Brazil. Its integrated production system comprises two pulp and paper mills in Mogi Guaçu and Luiz Antônio, both in São Paulo state, and one paper factory in Três Lagoas, Mato Grosso do Sul. The Company also maintains offices in São Paulo city, which house the administrative and corporate areas, an export unit (Ipex), and a distribution center in Porto Alegre.

Mogi Guaçu Mill (SP)

Inaugurated in the 1960s as IP Latin America's first printing and writing paper plant, it has an annual production capacity of 400,000 tons of pulp and 440,000 tons of uncoated paper. With ISO 9001, ISO 14001, Cerflor and FSC certification, it has 3,381 employees (1,360 direct and 2,021 service providers).

Luiz Antônio Mill (SP)

Inaugurated in 1993, this unit has 1,513 professionals (629 own and 884 service providers), an annual production capacity of 410,000 tons of pulp and 360,000 tons of uncoated paper, and has been granted ISO 9001, ISO 14001, Cerflor, FSC, and European Ecolabel Flower certification.

Três Lagoas Mill (MS)

In operation since 2009, this is the only paper mill built in Brazil in the past 15 years. Employing some of the market’s most advanced technology, the unit has automated finishing lines that can produce up to 140 reams of paper per minute. It has ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, Cerflor and FSC certification and 701 employees (214 own and 487 outsourced).

Forestry Division

International Paper’s forest area spans 102,000 hectares, including 72,000 hectares of eucalyptus plantation for pulp and paper production. It also maintains 26,000 hectares of conservation areas in the state of São Paulo, where the original characteristics of the native vegetation are preserved, and 3,800 hectares in the process of ecological restoration. With ISO 9001, ISO 14001, Cerflor, FSC and OHSAS 18001 certification, the unit has 1,828 employees (505 own and 1,323 outsourced).

The Chamex paper is a market leader in printing and writing paper, and Chamequinho, a multipurpose paper used in education and fun activities.

IP Latin America exports its products to more than 50 countries and its main clients are in Chile, the UK and the United States. The company's portfolio consists of printing and writing paper and includes the cut paper lines Chamex—a market leader—and Chamequinho, the HP line and the Chambril printing paper line. All products are produced from 100% renewable eucalyptus, with recognized certifications, such as Cerflor, FSC, Ecolabel Flower/Colibri, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 (find out more about certifications on page herehere).

Chamex: when it comes to paper, almost everyone thinks fist of Chamex, the paper for people who want to get organized, draw, doodle and bring their ideas to life. Whatever the need, it’s best to put it on Chamex. With products for every possible use, the Chamex line, consisting of Chamex Office, Chamex Multi, Chamex Super, Chamex Colors and Chamex Eco, guarantees the best results.

Chamequinho: ideal for activities at home and at school, it is sold in packets of 100 sheets, white or colored (pink, blue, ivory, green and yellow). Available in A4, 75 g/m².

Rino: recommended for day-to-day activities like printing, drawing or writing. Available in A4, 75 g/m².

HP: IP manufactures HP paper worldwide. Colorlok technology makes printed colors brighter and black bolder, in addition to ensuring faster drying times and a lower risk of smudging. It is recommended for use with HP printers that have Colorlok technology. Available in A4 and Letter size, 75 g/m² and 90 g/m².

Chambril: IP’s offset paper, designed for the publishing and printing industry and for use in paper products and artifacts. The Chambril portfolio has nine products within a wide grammage range (from 45 g/m² to 240 g/m²).

Pulp: high-brightness eucalyptus pulp (Bleached Eucalyptus Kraft), produced by International Paper, it is recommended for use in a wide variety of papers.

  • Paper: A quarterly magazine targeting clients and opinion makers, Paper features articles related to the Company’s key messages designed to strengthen the IP brand.
