COMMUNICATION CHANNELS

With transparency being one of the Company’s values and one of the cornerstones of sustainable development, and understanding the complexity of its business, particularly with regard to the issue of chrysotile ore, Eternit seeks to keep its communication channels open channels to its various public audiences, of consumers and investors.

The data dealt with through these channels are kept confidential.  In 2010 the Company received no complaints with regard to the violation of privacy or loss of customer data. PR8

Consumers

The main communication channel to the public audience is the Consumer Advice Service (SAC), which can be reached on the toll-free number 0800-0211709, or via the e-mail sac@eternit.com.br.  In 2010, the SAC received 4654 requests from consumers.

Shareholders

For shareholders and potential investors, Eternit provides a channel known as “Speak to IR”, both via the e-mail ri@eternit.com.br and on the telephone numbers +55 11 3813-6034 or +55 11 3038-3818. It is the Company's IR policy to attend to every request from investors within a maximum period of 72 hours.

Stakeholders

Any and every public audience has direct access to the Company president, Élio Martins, via the e-mail “Speak to the President”, available on the Company website www.eternit.com.br. The Company guarantees a response to queries, suggestions or complaints.

The same applies to the Board of Directors, which has the communication channel “Speak to the Board”, which is open to suggestions, praise, criticisms or denouncements.

Employees

The channel “Speak to the President” is also available to the Company's internal public audience, with messages being dealt with and responded to on a confidential basis.  Employees also have internal communication vehicles which are distributed internally on a monthly basis: Telhadinho, Canal Aberto and Antenado, respectively dedicated to the employees of Eternit, SAMA and Tégula. In addition to internal news, they also touch on the principles of the UN Global Compact and Millennium Development Targets.

Press

The publication of Eternit's activities is carried out through its press office. The Company's spokesmen are well prepared to grant interviews on various subjects.

Blog

Launched in 2010, o www.blogdaeternit.com.br introduces developments in the area of construction in a flexible manner, publicising innovations and other themes within the Eternit universe of interest to clients, investors, partners and society in general. The objective is to insert the Company into web universe 2.0, thus creating greater interactivity and proximity in its relationship with its various public audiences.

Opendoor program

Created in 2004, the program consists literally of opening the doors of SAMA and the various plants in the Group to visits to any individual interested in learning more about Eternit's operations. During the visit, participants receive information on the processing of chrysotile ore, the manufacture of the Company's products and its health and safety practices.  More than 42,000 people, most of them students, have already participated in this program, considered to be one of the largest in the market.
