Eternit does not sell its services, but offers the following tools to clients, consumers and specifiers:
Online tools
On its website (www.eternit.com.br) Eternit provides online tools developed specially to attend to clients’ needs in a practical manner. This is the case of Etercalc, which, based on the measurement of the proposed roof, carries out a complex calculation the quantity of material necessary, together with additional items, providing a simulation of the final result. Also with the help of Etertools, the clients can choose the best product for their roof by making a comparison between the various models available. For the end-consumer, Tégula provides a list of roofing specialists in every Brazilian state and town.
Training and courses
To minimise the shortage of specialist labour in the construction sector, Eternit offers training and qualification courses in partnership with various entities, among them being Senai and Anamaco (National Association of Construction Material Merchants).
In addition to this, Eternit holds a series of technical and product training courses for its clients – resellers, distributors and installers, construction firms, faculties and universities, and sector entities – through its team of technical promoters spread throughout Brazil.
In 2010 Eternit held more than 350 training programs, with the participation of more than 7000 sector professionals. The idea is, in addition to providing professional and business training, to also increase demand for Eternit's products.
Also, of particular note during the year, the Company added an additional course to its portfolio specialising in metal grids – a system of prefabricated made-to-measure metal roofing for specific projects – taking into account the current trends in the roofing market.
Tégula also provides training through its travelling centre Você Coberto de Conhecimento (roofing knowledge for you), a truck which travels across Brazil teaching roofing techniques to carpenters and roofing specialists.
Academic world
With the aim of adding to the technical knowledge of future professionals in the architectural and engineering areas, Eternit holds seminars and training sessions at academic institutions on its products and their applications.
The Company also gains access to the academic world by providing support in the form of polls and questionnaires, as well as opening its doors to students at all levels under its Opendoor Program (click here). Eternit also grants interviews to teachers, students and press.
