About This Report

The 2010 report relates Brazilian diversity with the diversification of Eternit's portfolio, which is the Company's platform for growth for the next 70 years.

The report has been divided into the following chapters:

  • 2010: A Year of Diversification and Growth: highlights and main events of the year;
  • A Diversified Company: a panorama of the Company, its businesses and history;
  • Diversification with Quality and Transparency: policies and directives of the Company and Corporate Governance;
  • Platform for the Next 70 Years: financial-economic analysis of the 2010 results and outlook; and
  • Diversification with Sustainability: management practices and sustainable actions for stakeholders.

Reading guide

  • Eternit’s Annual Report is an important communications tool, which has the objective of publicising the most important financial, social and environmental information about the Company for the year 2010, in a transparent and credible manner, enabling the public audiences interested in Eternit’s operations to accompany its activities.
  • Eternit has been publishing Annual Reports since 2005 and this is the fourth time that it is using the directives reposed under the Global Reporting Initiative, declaring itself at Level B.
  • In addition to GRI indicators, the report also includes the recommendations of ABRASCA (Brazilian Association of Listed Companies) and the socio-environmental balance sheet model adopted by Ibase (Brazilian Institute for Social and Environmental Analyses) and NBCT-15 (Brazilian Accounting Norms).
  • All the strategic public audiences of Eternit have been considered: employees, clients, suppliers, the community, government and society.  Guidance and approval of the content has been carried out internally in a multi-disciplined and collegiate manner, in order to ensure that all the information of interest to stakeholders is present.
